Intitially to use at home in order to become more confident in what is on offer.  Then to extend my own experiences into the classroom.

To engage the most disaffected students in my class; to get them inform me about what they know without having to make them write it all the time but to express themselves using multimedia and the web.

It is useful to explore the resources and then use some of them in school with staff. Some of the resources could then be used with children.

Looking at the tools that will allow teachers to re-engage the disconnected and disaffected students, inlcuding disabled, long-term ill, excluded and bullied.  Giving them a connection to learning resources without the associated anxieties of managing social interaction.

I've been various web2.0 tools since Sept.

I set up an edublog for students to add comments to at www.notreblog.edublogs.org

I use del.ici.ous to tag all my favourite sites at http://del.icio.us/communicty and display them as a cloud on my blog at http://www.learnblog.net/ict/

If you are looking for a safe and simple video conferencing tool that won't get blocked, try flashmeeting.  There's an article about it on my blog.

If you are looking for a safer way to create image galleries than Flickr, try bubbleshare.com

Hope this helps to get you started.
