The Kent ICT blog enables a two-way exchange of news, advice and recommendations between staff in schools and the ASK Primary ICT Team. Use it to share news of good sites, best practice - and to contact the wide community of practitioners with a commitment to bringing the best that ICT can offer to learners in Kent schools. The Kent ICT blog supplements our main website at www.kented.org.uk

Can you help me out? I am looking for a website for Finnish, Serbian and Philippines languages. We have new children from these countries and would appreciate if you could direct me.

That is quite a challenge! I am sure other schools are in the same boat as you. It is a wonderful opportunity for the rest of the school to find out about other countries. First may I direct you to James' new Visual timetable on the Kent NGfL Games page. Download it and install it on your computer as it is a quick and easy way of showing the class, and your new pupils, what lessons they will be doing. You can listen to different languages on the BBC site http://www.bbc.co.uk/languages/other/quickfix/ The following website has links to other websites of languages http://www.lonweb.org/ Finnish http://virtual.finland.fi/netcomm/news/showarticle.asp?intNWSAID=25143 (When you are on the page, right click on the link and save the sound file. You could then embed it on a Textease page as part of a matching game.) I will email you all the other useful websites I know as it is quite a long list for on here. Mandy
Try http://www.edu.fi/english/schools/ for links to finnish schools websites - then possible links onward.
