The Kent Learning Zone Roadshows are aimed at staff within Kent Schools who need to gain an insight into Kent's solution on how to meet the DCSF 2008 requirement, 'Every pupil to have a personal online learning space'.
A personal online learning space where pupils can store electronically everything related to their learning and achievements, lesson resources, assignments and research. Being online, it will be accessible from home, from school, and, transfer with the pupil to each new organisation as they progress through the system. This facility is available for every pupil in Kent through the Kent Learning Zone.
Why should my school consider KLZ?
Regardless of what learning platform each school or Cluster will eventually choose to meet the 2010 requirement, schools will have (among other things):
- safe encrypted storage of documents on servers in Kent
- the ability to communicate and share resources with all schools in Kent
- one login to all resources and a login which will remain the same throughout a child's schooling in Kent
- students accounts automatically created via SIMs and will move with the student when moving on to a different school.
Why should I attend the Roadshow?
You will gain a better understanding of all the above and see demonstrations on four different Learning platforms and how KLZ slots into them. You will also have the opportunity to ask loads of questions, if you have any.
Places are available on 4 February in Maidstone and 6 February in Westgate-on-Sea.
