There is an advert (currently advertised in the "Opportunities" leaflet) for secondments to join the strategy team. These will be for half time (ie 2.5 days) but there may be some flexibility. Any subjects can apply. We will try to match demand to applicants subjects.

The opportunities leaflet lists all the jobs in Kent and is issued Weekly. 23rd March is the date you need. They are often in staff rooms or the bursar knows of their whereabouts!

Sunday 27th May to Saturday 2nd June in SW France during the Summer Break holiday.
It is called 'Astronomy in the 21st Century'.

SEEDA (South East England Development Agency) is looking to develop a fantastic resource which would allow virtual access to a whole number of different places across the region where physics is applied in fascinating ways - for example possible facilities include Astrium, Qinetiq, Cody Technology Park, Oxford, Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Southampton Universities, Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, JET, Diamond Light Source, National Oceanography Centre, Langton Star Centre.
This meeting is to ask teachers what they want from such a resource and will be an invaluable help to SEEDA so that they produce something that we will all value and use.
The main part of the meeting will be to advise SEEDA on the resource that teachers will want and I have also invited two other contributors
Dave Bowdley - Head of Education at the Faulkes Telescope Project to help any school wishing to use these real time robotic telescopes in Hawaii and Australia
Steve Walls and Mark Johnson - Outreach in the School of Physical Sciences to let you know what the University of Kent can offer in Physics and Forensic Science support right now.
There will be tea and cakes and it would be really helpful to have your input into what will become a brilliant boost to physics teaching across the whole South East region.
