New KS3 PoS

Please find attached the new PoS for KS3. It is in zipped format. This will start to be taught to Y7 in September 2008. As yet, we have no intelligence regarding how it will be assessed. Watch this space for details!

We are running a training day on the implications of this new PoS on March 19th (venue to be decided - watch this space). To book contact Debbie Kirkland on 01732 876620.

This is still a big file evn when zipped, so use a broadband connection.

Badger Science Resources

I have received the e-mail below requesting some help with a Ph.D. As many of you use the Badger Level Assessed tasks I thought you might like to help Andy (the author).

Dear Colleague

First, sorry for the impersonal email.

As you may be aware, I am doing a doctorate in education at the

University of Sussex. The focus of my research is the evaluation of the

Badger KS3 Science Level Assessed Tasks (Year 7, 8 or 9).

As part of my research, I would like to gather some practical

information, opinions and attitudes from teachers who use my tasks, the

Badger KS3 Science Levelled Assessment Tasks (LATs). Please spare a few

minutes to complete this questionnaire.

If you have used the Badger KS3 LATs, all you need to do is click on the

link below and follow the instructions.

Please forward this email to any teacher who uses the Badger KS3 Level

Assessed Tasks within your department or beyond. I want to get as large

a sample as I can.

The information you provide in this questionnaire will remain anonymous,

even if you chose to supply your name. The primary use of the

information you have provided will be used as part of my doctoral

research, but may also be used to improve any future editions of the

Badger KS3 Science Level Assessment Tasks.

Many thanks for your time.
