April 2009 - Posts

I had a very interesting meeting with Tandberg last week. They are keen to increase their market share in the Education sector so it may well be worth checking out Tandberg if you are considering purchasing a new endpoint - they are promising good educational pricing on their products.

Something like the Edge 85 would be suitable for whole classroom use.

They also showed us a High Def USB webcam developed in conjunction with Microsoft which looked really cool and suitable for use with H.323 software codecs and Microsoft OCS as used by the Kent Learning Zone.

Hi

You can now see the long projects we hope to run during 2009-10 for KS3 students at

http://motivate.maths.org/clusters/2009-10/cluster_homepage2009-10.shtml

or linked from the long project tab.  We are offering:

* It's not that I'm smart (rich mathematical problems)

* Reality Maths (using maths to investigate real life)

* The Risks of Life (using probability to investigate games, scams and media headlines).

Use the online registration form, which is linked from this page, to sign up for one or more long projects. Please note that we reserve the right not to run any of these if we do not get enough schools signed up, so you should give alternative choices where possible. If you would like to register for more than one long project, an email to motivate@maths.cam.ac.uk clarifying what your preferred options are, and what other options would be acceptable would be a good idea.

The early bird rate is £1395, obtainable if you complete the registration process by 1 June - ie. the signed Agreement with us by Monday 1 June. If you have any questions about any of the projects, or any aspect of the registration procedure, don't hesitate to get back to me.

Regards

Jenny
